My mission is for you to get inspired by Mozambique and bring you to beautiful places here. I organize your holiday, create unique experiences for you, a<\/strong>nd make sure you can travel safe and worry-free.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

Drawing on 50 years of life and travel experience<\/a>,<\/strong> I do so in a\u00a0 personal way, directly from Mozambique, independent and objective.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

I\u2019ve travelled extensively around the world \u2014on my own and with Gerry<\/strong><\/a>\u2014staying in everything from five-star hotels and safari lodges to simple guesthouses and rustic campsites. I\u2019ve experienced it all. I\u2019ve flown across continents and bumped along dusty roads in crowded African buses. Whether it\u2019s a street-side meal or a fine-dining experience, I enjoy it all. It\u2019s the mix that makes travel so special.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

I\u2019m a people person who loves hosting and creating memorable experiences. I care about the details\u2014quality, authenticity, and making things feel just right. I'm here to share my knowledge and love for Mozambique with you, in a way that\u2019s personal and tailored to your wishes.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Passion for Africa<\/h2><\/div><\/div>

Originally from Friesland in the Netherlands<\/strong><\/a>, my first step onto African soil in 1995 was nothing short of magical. The vibrant colors, breathtaking sunsets, warm-hearted people, and the untamed beauty of the land captivated me. This journey led me to a traineeship at the Centre for Ecotourism at the University of Pretoria<\/strong><\/a>, where I made friends for life.<\/span><\/p>\n

Africa's allure only grew stronger with every visit. I guided tours in South Africa for a few years and during a trip to Zimbabwe in 2000, met my friend Cathy, who introduced me to Gerry. Together, we explored Southern Africa extensively and visited Mozambique for the first time in 2008. My love for Africa also guided my professional path, leading me to a traineeship at the Sub Saharan Africa Department of the Ministy of Foreign Affairs in the Netherlands<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Sustainability and local partnership<\/h2><\/div><\/div>

With Unique Mozambique, I aim to share my passion for Africa<\/strong> as well as creating travel experiences based on sustainability<\/strong> and interconnectedness. Growing up in the Dutch countryside, I developed a strong interest for sustainability and local food. <\/strong>I enjoy gardening, good food and hospitality, and studied sustainable tourism. To me, sustainability means interconnectedness, reflecting the African Ubuntu philosophy<\/span><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0of equal partnerships and mutual learning.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

This belief inspired me to start Unique Mozambique. By operating directly from Mozambique I can share my local expertise and knowledge with you and support local businesses to ensure tourism benefits Mozambicans directly<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

By working with local partners and transfer companies, you'll be helping to keep\u00a0 revenue in the country and support small businesses and families. This is also one of the reasons why I do not organize self-drive holidays. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Living here allows me to address any issues and offer you better support.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
